BPIHS functions as a freshwater ornamental fish breeding centre focused on producing high-quality Arowana fry for the Sabah and international markets, while raising the standards of the ornamental fish aquaculture industry through modern, systematic and environmentally friendly management.

Ko-Nelayan Ornamental Fish Centre

PIHS (Pusat Ikan Hiasan Ko-Nelayan Sabah — Sabah Ko-Nelayan Ornamental Fish Centre) is the largest ornamental fish farm in the State of Sabah, wholly owned by KO-NELAYAN, located at Kg. Kaiduan, Papar, Sabah. This 7.6-acre farm produces Arowana fish (Scleropages Formosus) of the Malaysian Gold and Albino Silver species, certified CITES A-MY-575 and operating in accordance with the MyGAP (Malaysian Good Agricultural Practices) standards of the Department of Fisheries Malaysia. All farm processes are conducted organically, without antibiotics or hormones.
